Escalation and paging
An alert never just sits on a screen. The server runs a ladder for every critical alert:
| When | Who is paged | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The alert is raised | Every nurse phone on the ward | Someone near should go now |
| Not acknowledged within 30 s | Nurses and the charge nurse | It is escalated: the shift lead must know |
| Still not acknowledged, every 2 minutes | Both again | Reminders until a person owns it |
Warnings (soft alerts) appear on the screens only and page nobody. Acknowledging stops the ladder.
Every page is on the record
Section titled “Every page is on the record”Each page is written to the journal with how many phones it reached. Zero is recorded too, and the server warns: “nobody reached” is never silent. The station can see how many phones of each role are connected.
Why the ladder lives on the server
Section titled “Why the ladder lives on the server”One place to audit it and one place to change it: a different ward can get a different ladder without updating any phone. Phones are reached over the building’s own network; no cloud push service is involved.
